INnovative Marine just released a desktop UV sterilizer/clarifier.

I have been impressed with the IM products I have purchased for my 25 Lagoon. Any thoughts on wbether UV is worth running? What are the benefits? Drawbacks?

I think the drawbacks other than cost of the unit are guesses at best. Yes copepods and other forms of microorganisms will die when they pass through, but no one has confirmed that it will deplete the population in the tank. If you don't like quarantining your fish then it helps keep outbreaks at bay although don't count on it curing a fish that is already sick. Also, it does keep the water pretty clear and helps prevent bacterial blooms.

I've read about the Copepods but don't think that's an issue for my situation.

Does it help with algae blooms?

It should help with algae bloom theoretically but it also would depend on the pump you're using for the return.
