I have a Vertex Alpha 170 Royal-Exclusiv edition with original Red Dragon pump. I believe to be the second owner of this skimmer and I used it for about 5 months. Skimmer body and pump were recently taken apart and cleaned for regular maintenance. No cracks anywhere but the skimmer body seems to have some fine scratches from cleaning. Those scratches are only noticeable when the body is completely dry. Both hoses are in perfect condition along with the skimmer cup. The top of the skimmer cup cap has some scratches as shown on the pictures below. The Red Dragon pump impeller is in immaculate condition. Magnet has no signs of warp. fade, or cracking. Impeller wheel has no cracks or breaks. All in all, the skimmer is in great condition. The only thing that is better than its condition, is its ability to skim. This thing is a BEAST!
