They grow fast, your coworker should give to me. LOL. I have a 300 gallon

I've heard they grow pretty fast though, but I've never had one though

Yeah that tang wouldn't be suitable for your shallow 50 gallon. I would give to someone with a much larger tang. They are super cool though.

Ever see what happens when one eats nothing but fast food for a few weeks? They get super sized.

Just cut back on feedings and growth will slow down.

I had one many years back. It outgrew the 225g it was in, in less than a year. They are gentle giants that require lots of room.

Did it become more aggressive when it outgrew your 225g?

nope..was still gentle but it definitely needed more room to even turn around in the tank so off it went into a 400g where to this day is doing great.

Thanks. Did you feed a lot so it grew so much so quickly? Was it an easy fish that's not an ich magnet?

It grows fast & needs lots of food. Mine was bullied by my acanthurus tangs, got weak & took a nap in my RBT anemone.

yup..as rayray mentioned...it needed lots of food and when it crop dusted, it would cloud the tank for a good 3 minutes to where visibility was 0. lol. Was a very simple fish to take care of and not an ick magnet as much as pbt, achilles or blues are but as with all tangs, it's very susceptible to it.

Is it very sensitive to cupermine?
