So about 2 weeks ago I picked up a 70 gallon cadlights rimless which will be replacing my 22 gallon aqua Japan rimless AIO. It will be my first plumbed and sumped setup. I have a lot to learn as the plumbing is not complete on my new setup. This will be a slow build.

Old 22 gallon

New tank obviously needs plumbing cut and some how redone.

I wanna add shut off valves also. I am reading that cadlights is metric so I either need to source metric plumbing or find some kind of adapter/modifying to run standard plumbing.

Also saw many cadlights build threads showing herbie style with 2 drains and one return. Mines only comes with 1 drain 1 return durso style. Maybe I got the old model?

This will be a bedroom tank so I hope that it is quiet.

All comments/advice appreciated thanks

I don't really update with every little thing I do. Since my first post this tank has already moved a great length. I cycled this tank with dry/live rock plus dr Tim's one and only? I also use nite out bacteria, and then I used API bacteria. I moved 30 pounds more live rock into the tank and took out a lot of the dry rock cuz it was just too much rock. Installed a par 38 for the fuge. And thanks to James (newtothis) I got a GFO reactor running. A quick and crappy pic.

Good stuff Vu.

Is your heater hanging out in the DT? What's up with that?
Haha naw I tossed that heater in the tank just to get it warm again. I bought a 250 watt heater but it doesn't fit anywhere in the sump. I'm now running 1x100w and 1x125w heater

Haha yea I'm trying to keep the tank as clean as possible. The return pump was off for a long time as I was working on the tank so the display got cold. Took one heater out the sump and tossed it up there real quick. Tank is in my bedroom and my bedroom/bathroom is gonna be a mess until this tank is done.

I hear you. My back yard, driveway and garage are a disaster right now. I'm finally at a point where I can start cleaning things up.

For anyone that was interested in the jebao dual pump controller, I've only been running it for one day. It does everything that the regular pump controller does but it controls two pumps at the same time. Instead of an s1,s2,s3 mode, u can turn down flow but pressing the flow button up to 8 times I think(gotta double check). The only thing I don't like about it is when I put it in else mode, both pumps are pumping randomly but they are pumping the exact same pumps if that makes sense

Let me explain that better. In Else mode the pumps are suppose to pump randomly. And both pumps are pumping randomly but they are pumping the same patterns, intervals, strength so they are mimicking each other

Not much. Since my last post I bought 3 starfish, got rid of all the gsp. I bought a brand new apex gold package from chance of coral. Gotta pick it up and set it up. I also bought a jebao dc 9000 and plan to redo my plumbing.

I plan to get a new light rail made that will accommodate 2 t5 bulbs on each side of my led lights. I think I will use the 2 bulb fishneedit fixtures to create a t5ho led hybrid. They seem to be the cheapest and best compleat looking option to create a hybrid.

so i rescaped slightly and took out a little bit of rock. i really like a minimal less rock look but im afraid if i take too much rock out, i wouldnt be able to sustain a healthy pod population for my dragonettes. this tank is still far from done. i will be setting up an apex gold soon and possibly a t5ho ai vega hybrid. i also replaced the 5 gallon jug ato res for a 10 gallon tank from petsmart sale.
