Vortech battery backup wiring is very poor

Hey guys and gals, I am finally getting my electric panel set up and I installed the battery backup. However the wire that goes from the backup to the controller hooks up very poorly, w half the female part hanging out loose ... Yes I said it.
Here is a pic. Can those of you that have the backup, post a pic of this connection? Is this normal or did I just get a poor connecting wire

You have it right, it doesn't go in all the way.

I guess it goes without saying... It shouldn't be that way, not only for the price we pay but also for any sort of moisture in the air. Yes we shouldn't have it in water ofcourse, but exposed metal like that only makes things worse. Poor design on their part. I like the pumps and controllability but they should have done a better job w this easy fix

Check the date on the wire. There was a recall issued a while back but they brushed it under the rug. I contacted them about it and they gave me a stink about it. The replacement cables were also crapola. You DON'T always get what you paid for in this hobby.
