I know to each their own, but what should be a base guideline for a nem? I had one that lasted over 6 months when my tank was only 6 months old. Biweekly water changes helped me keep that one alive. Now that I have had my tank up for 18+ months, I have learned more about water chemistry than I have ever wanted to before. I do weekly water changes, run biopellets, and now have my calcium reactor to keep alk and calcium up. LMK. oh yea, I dont have a reactor to run carbon to clarify the water, would a bag of activated carbon in a high flow area (overflow, sump near return pump) help?

I think your good. Just keep alk stable with help keeps ph stable. Alk and pH r the two things I watch. I never test po4 or no3 and my nems thrived. Also I rarely and I mean rarely run carbon. I read to many articles saying carbon can cause hole in the head in tangs so I try to say away from carbon. Also rarely run gfo too. With my ritteris I've had great success with keeping alk, pH, and temp stable.

thx emac... ritteris... any split and u willing to sell?
Ritteris don't split. I did read that vivid was cutting there's and propagating there display green and purple one but I wouldn't do that.

I did sale one a few months back. I still have to left. They do get big tho. One is about 1' across the other one is about 10".

There's two on that rock.
