I purchased a rain barrel from homedepot and it works great. Thick plastic and it even comes drilled with a faucet.

Don't brute cans leech phosphates into the water?

I would try Craigslist. I found 2 25gallon food grade barrels that were used for shipping sugars for $12 bucks each.

I've never detected any phosphates with my Hanna. It works fine, and being on wheels is wonderful right now.
