what happened to my melanarus?

Came home today and my melanarus wrasse has white marks on one side of his body and he's swimming very slow (usually bullets through the tank).

Anyone have any ideas? any remedies?

I figured he might have scraped a rock really hard coming up or got too close to my giant carpet anemone.

sorry but he's a goner. that's exactly what my fish looked like and acted when my carpet got them and they were able to squirm away. only a matter of time now.

woke up this morning and he was laying on its side. went to get him out and he squirmed around and laid back down. repeated again and I stopped to not stress him out if he has a chance.

should I leave him be?

not to kick you while you're down but the carpet will continue doing what is natural for it to do. how big is your tank if you dont mind me asking?
