Im building my new 120 , 4x2x2 and am deciding what type of sand to use. I always have used the fiji pink, and now considering the sugar white- CaribSea Aragamax Sugar-Sized Sand or the - CaribSea Aragamax Oolitic Select Sand.

Let me know your opinions or experience with DSB's in the tank..... if it matters between the sugar size or the select.

Thanks for your thoughts.!!

Before decide the sand size, you should consider tank flow and kind of coral and fish you are going to get. Sugar size is very easy to get disturbed by flow and fish. You can get sand storm in your tank . Fiji pink size is little better to withstand the flow.

yup I had the sugar sand and GSM Clown pair with anem near the bottom. The female dusted my whole tank (80 gal) constantly. Was very annoying until nem migrated up the tank away from the sand. Maybe do a combo for DSB. Sugar on the very bottom and Fiji on top. I heard sugar size is the way to go for a proper working DSB. Maybe someone else can chime in on that

What if i Did like 6 bags of sugar on bottom and then a bag or two of the select grade on top and pack it down? I keep hearing about these sand storms and its making me hesitant, although I hear its the best for DSB
