Hey guys i git a 4 ft long 75 gal tank that i was wondering what wave maker to buy for. Right now i have 2 1300gph pumps but only turn one on because that seems to blast everything in a constant stream. His is making my sand look ugly with dead spot and nothing is wavy like it should be. I dontwant to spend much at the moment and want to see what is a cheap yet kinda worth buying product.

Well im not really sure. Whats the best opinion? Like i said i only have constant flow and everything seems to hate it. Havent had money to spend on my tank in a while so tjats why i didnt bother changing the pumps. But it was my bday yesterday so im deciding on getying sonetig for the tank. I want to replace the current ones for sure . So i dont think buying a controller that turns them on amd off is needed at the moment

If you can afford it and don't mind a little noise, two MP40s would be ideal for that tank. Since your tank is only 75g, you wouldn't need to run them at 100% to get good flow. If you want it to be absolutely silent, two Tunze 6095s would give you a nice wide/gentle flow, especially if you can control them with an APEX or pick up a used 7095 or 7096 controller on the cheap. Either of those options will set you back $500-$700. I own both of the powerheads I suggested and can't recommend one over the other. They both have their advantages. Jebao powerheads seem to be the rage at the moment. Someone will probably suggest a WP25 or two, which might work great and only set you back about $150. I do not own any of the Jebao powerheads, so I cannot recommend them without reservation.

I have a wp25 on my 80g and love it! I actually bought a different power supply to tone it down a little because it is really strong.

For me it was a little too much at its lowest setting but I'm paranoid about stressing fish out with too much flow haha for must people they would probably think it's perfect. But even at its lowest setting mine would move some sand on a couple of modes.

My tank is also 36in so I think with the extra 12in on your tank you should be fine and have minimal to no sand getting kicked up at its lowest stock setting.

Yea im hoping that the 48 inches long plays a big part since it would take longer to hit the otherside and kick back.

2 wp25s on opposite sides. 1 on wave mode and the other on else mode. Will give great random flow and swaying corals

The speed is controllable on the wp25. If you plan on sps, there isnt such a thing as "too much" flow.

Where are you located? Ive seen some jebaos stocked at Brea Tropical Fish
