The highest I've seen it was at 81. My entire system sits in the garage. That's with only 2 8" fans blowing across the tank and sump and another one exhausting out of the garage. It was up to 105 outside today and the garage went up to about 92.

Today I got home from being gone for 2 days and the tank was at 88.9.

Fish were ok, and my zoas didnt seem to mind, but all my corals were closed up and looked awful, I had a bunch of frozen waterbottle and threw wm in my sump and slowly dropped it to 83, hopefully I dont lose anything.

Yeah. Im scared to go home as well. So far my tank temp never went up to 84 as per my Aquacontroller via the web. Webcam shows everything is ok. Not sure how my new fishes are doing in the quarantine tank though.

Mine has hit 84 when there is no AC on and peak heat hours, I normally just turn on my portable ac directed at the sump, ussually drops it back down pretty quick.

I have mine set to about 79.2 - 80.5 - My one tank has a chiller but my nanos dont - if I just open the hoods slightly they drop from 82-83 to 79-80 and I am out in the valley - its blazin hot out here. Plus I am running my AC at 79. But I still need to open there hood other wise there soar back up to 82-83 range.

79.5 then my chiller kicks in until it's down to 78.5. Last summer my tank hit the low 90s, at least 92f. I lost alot of corals and a couple of fish. I don't want to go through that again.

My 150 is set at 77, but actually got up to 79/80 during last week's heat wave, even with a 1/3 hp Current chiller. Unacceptable, I think! During last summer's long heat wave, my little 10 gallon nano, set up bare bones in the garage and filled only with zoos and softies, got up to 105 degrees F! Everything made it, believe it or not.

Just curious, why is 79/80 unacceptable? I don't think most animals will show any ill effects unless it gets into the mid and high 80's.
