I found this growing between my mushrooms. It is white and kind of fuzzy. It is the round white thing at the base of the red mushroom in the center of the pic. A little cotton ball thing. That is the best way I can describe it, but its obviously not. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

could be sponge, but i don't see mouths or anything showing it is a sponge... could also be a strung up tourniquet, or fungus... if you want to kill it, take the rock out and smash it up... if air gets in it and it's a sponge, it will die... if it doesn't die, it could be fungus... then you'll need to do a peroxide saltwater dip to kill it...

No, its too much like a fluffy cotton ball. It is changing shape within the last half hour. I will post another pic if it get very different.

Ok, its all around the base of the mushrooms and I pulled a piece off. It was kind of hard like salt creep texture.

btw... i'm not sure how the mushrooms will handle a straight peroxide dip, but the best dip would be 2 parts saltwater, one part peroxide, and one part melafix... that's the best dip for fungus...

there are different formulas for dipping with peroxide, but usually just zoas... i've done 100% peroxide on zoas with no srs side affects... i told liz about it last time, and she found some different formulas and times to dip... meh...

but again, i don't know how mushrooms will react to the peroxide, so be careful...
