Solar is a big market right now. And a lot of new guys are joining in. I'm looking for the most proven brand. People say 25 year warranty this. 25 year that. But its not good if they go out of business. Kinda like the road that jebao is taking. Sh!tty quality knock offs with no customer service. There's just way too much stuff online for me to understand. A big name I keep getting is Canadian solar. But wiki has yingli as #1. I really Dont want to go Chinese Anything. Please give me your input. I've been leanignaway from going solar because of issues I've read online about how they warrant the product for 25 years but they would only pay a portion of the aMount needed for the labor to be done. So one guy says he got 150$ when the job was 350$. 1 job every 2 years is enough to offset aNY savings. Micro inverters aren't proven yet. So 1 can go out every few years and I'll be @ssed out. My last 2 bills was 135$ (⬅no AC or chiller yet)

I'm talking to power aid. He wants 17000 for a 14 panel canadian 250 panels with enphase micro inverters. Micro inverters scare me since they go out randomly. But poweraide supposedly covers everything for the first 10 years (labor) while canadian solar provides the product. So I guess the only thing I need to worry about is the panel manufacturers going out of business.

That's why you go with a big solar install company and not joe blow from down the street who has 0 customer service but a cheap price. Sungevity covers everything for 20yrs and if the panel manufacturer or micro inverter blows they replace it with what they have. If I remember correctly there are only like 3 panel manufacturers, he rest just buy from them and slap their name on it. They had the best customer service out of the 5 companies I called and have been in business since 2007. Not terribly long but a lot of their founders came from other larger commercial install company. Lookup the company your going with on the better business bureau website and remember people will go out of their way to complain but not always compliment so take reviews with a grain of salt.

^ this. I looked at half a dozen companies. The only two I'd recommend/use without hesitation are RGS solar and Sungevity. RGS was the first to sell panels in the U.S. (I believe in the 1970s) and Sungevity is large/established and reputable. Solar City is more hustle and has been scamming lately so that's why I avoided them. I agree about avoiding Chinese panels. Electricity is getting pricey. With the drought hydro is iffy and more expensive. We'll get socked with the added costs. Coal is going to be dead soon and fracking is getting hammered too so renewables are the future and the future is now.

I just read yelp reviews for rgs and they have some horrible reviews. But I'm getting similar reviews for most of the solar companies. Seems like the Dont care about customer.er device or speed anymore after they get your money. There's no more money to be made so why worry about existing customers. That's my #1 reason for hesitating to go solar right now. I Dont want to have to wait 1-2 months for them to service something and have to oy a fat Edison bill. Way too many reviews with solar and having to wait forever for anything to happen. Hopefully sungevjty is not like that since its a big contract with Lowe's.

Remember people will go out of their way for a bad review but not a positive review. If you jut read 1 star reviews on Amazon you'd never buy anything.
