When I had my 90g. My ASM g-3 was perfect for that size with a heavy bioload. It's not popular on this forum but if you research RC you will see a lot of positive reviews. You could even find one for cheap

Is noise important? Is ease of cleaning important? is taking it apart important? It's like a car, the more features you add the more expensive. But IMO, the best is Bubble King. True, there are skimmers out there that will do the same thing (pull out poo) but quality of material used by BK is 2nd to none.

I had ASM G2 on mu 100g and never could get it adjusted right amd it was loud.

Now I Hsve an eshopps sno cone 200 and love it.
Super quiet, and pulls tons of crude out. And stays adjusted

I think this is one of those threads that you're going to get mixed information on. Its almost like asking whats the best shoe brand. Everyone will have their fav's and not so fav's. Your best bet is to try a few and see what you like and works for you. You can find some skimmers that are cheap that work really good and some that don't. Same goes for the expensive ones. Personally I have a Ventri Skimmer built out of PC that I made for my 29 gallon that does one hell of a job and costed me less then $60 to make (makes some of the foulest smelling super brown skim mate I have ever seen, have to air the condo out every week when I empty it), then I have another on my frag tank that I picked up used and I am not really satisfied with.

Another thing you can try is watch the forsale section here. You will find people selling good skimmers all the time used. Pick one up try it, if you don't like it turn around and sell it for the same price and pick up another.

( I am sure I am going to get flamed for this response :D )

I agree, buy one and if you don't like it sell it. problem is people want to keep tinkering thinking they did something wrong lol
