Is there a size limit of hammer coral before it has to be fraged? Mine is as big as the baseball now.

I have had them and seen others the size of a basket ball in the past. I would be curious how big they get in the wild.

Thanks, I will let it be then. Just afraid that the bigger it is the easier it could get infested by pets and diseases.

Usually if you have a decent amount of stalk so you can cut it up. I have a hellfire torch with about 30 heads but I would have to group them into about 5 heads each because the stalk is not long enough so you just have to pull it out and see what you can cut off

They don't have to be fragged at all. Colonies get pretty big in the wild, about 3' or more. I've seen some way larger than a basketball in tanks. Let it grow!

The worst part about fraging a big one is they can break in a bunch of places not just where your trying to cut it. It is very aggravating when that happens.

As others have mentioned, no requirement to frag it... you can just let it grow. For hammers, what I end up doing though when I frag is frag up the whole thing while trying to leave a single large frag that still looks round. If you just cut off one part, you'll end up with it being uneven and looking a bit wonky.

Besides that, it looks awesome! I would let it keep growing...
