I think thats how to spell it. I need to do hypo due to ick and I need one locally so I can start it today. Also can I do it in my display since the rock that is in there is trash as soon as my new rock cures? If I do hypo in my display will that rid the tank of the ick?

Local to me would be orange county and south la county I am in Whittier.

You can get a refractometer from Marine Depot. They have one on sale for $39.99. Also get the Pinpoint 53.0mS solution for calibrating it to 1.0264, this cost $5.00.

If you have liverock and/or corals in your display then hypo would not be an option. Best bet is to set up a QT tank and due hypo in there. This would also help remove it from the display tank if no fish are present for 8 wks. The ick needs a host and without fish it will run it's cycle.

If I was local then I could loan you mine.

You might want to PM SteveOh, he's in whittier and sells some marine equipment. His web site: fantasycoral.com

Its doing great. It has scared the s**t out of me a couble of times when I am standing infront of the tank and it decides to puff?? how else would you say it? My stupid maroon is tring to host it tho. I cant wait until I catch him to put him in my FOWLR tank. But looks like that will have to wait a few weeks with the hypo and all. I didnt realize a clam that big could move around as much as he does.
