I'm a newbie and looking to set up a 50 gal tank. How should I get the initial saltwater? Should a buy it from the fish store or mix it myself? Any recommendation on a particular store in so Cali or salt mix brand?

If I mix the water, where should I get the plain water? I assume tap water would be wrong? I have some water filter in my kitchen, can I convert it to produce rodi water? It had three canister things and a smaller tube and 3 gal tank. Do I already have the right setup for rodi water? Can I test it somehow?

Sorry for all the newbie question. :)

coral gazers in tustin has good ro/di always 0 tds

but i would recomend getting a ro/di system yourself so there is no guessing what is going in your tank.

and i personally like D&D salt
but there are alot of good ones out there with different price ranges

good luck

Coral collection sell 0 TDS ro/di for 25 cents per gallon, and the saltwater is a little more but I forget because I mix my own water with reef crystals
