Reef Dynamics was sitting very pretty 10 or so years ago when they were known as EuroReef;
they along with AquaC, PM, and Deltec were the Premier protein skimmer companies of their day.
I remember when I first started the hobby 15+ years ago, getting a EuroReef skimmer was the equivalent to BubbleKing's reputation today.
Anybody who was anybody had a Euroreef sitting in their sump! (or outside/they made very good external skimmers as well)
Unfortunately all four companies mentioned above made the same mistake (IMO) as they fell very short on promoting themselves to the hobby communitty.
When new entrants hit the market with cone designs and affordable (imported) extruded acrylic, people simply forgot them.
The irony is that Reef Dynamics/EuroReef is/was based right here in Orange County, but many hobbyists here in the Southland never even heard of them! I would have at the very least tried to promote myself as a "home grown" company of sorts, especially given how large the hobby community is here in the greater LA area. Rising acrylic prices and labor rates I'm sure didnt help.
We wish the best for Jeff and family, hopefully he will stay in the aquatics industry in one form or another.
