I have two Kessil AP9X. They were running for 3 years. It happened to me that one of the two led burnout. That is a short time. I look for the best product that can run along such as 5-7 years.

Thanks

I was actually going to say kessil are solid products but you had a bad experience with them. I have never used it but a lot of people seem to like ecotech lights. In my most recent setup I was using Gieseman Aurora (t5/LED hybrid) and are very reliable but will be changing fixtures because I want to move away from T5 (too lazy to change bulbs)

that’s unfortunate, sorry that your LED burned out. I have always had positive experiences with Kessil products and customer service. Have you tried reaching out to them? They might help you out even if it’s outside of warranty.

I am planning to go with Reefi's as well.

I actually know the guy who makes them, we were in the same reef club up in Oregon. Dude is a genius. Had a great career at Intel and then started making these lights as a side gig.

One of the things I really like about the Uno 2's is the lens they use on the LED to focus it. So if you have a tank without a canopy and you are sitting in a chair looking at the tank, the light is not shining in your eyes. This really bugs me on my T5 lights or my Kessil light, before I bought the seperate lens attachment.

Dana Riddle recently did a write up on the Reefi's as well. They might be the best out right now, but hardly anyone knows about them.

Quanta led bars. I have them with the Hydra 32. All acros are growing after.
If I go all LED again, it will be all Quanta Pro and two Kessil’s for shimmer dawn/dusk. I’ve already mapped out which ones with Luca. Quanta’s and Reefi’s are the best bang for your buck LEDs period. Anyone considering XR15’s or 30’s should strongly consider Reefi’s. For some reason, I’ve never been a fan of Radions, there’s something about them that makes me not like them and I’m not sure what? I won’t deny their ability to grow coral, but for some reason tanks kinda look fake to me. Maybe it’s just that most people only use the blue light special setting?

Any led with enough par and spread is fine. They all work at this point. And you are not reselling coral for a living, so the small increments the big guys pay for isn’t worth it.

AI's and XR's both have replacement led bucks, and lens. There is aftermarket options in the AI world now that seem to be doing very good. Maybe one do ill do a side by side comparison on the aftermarket pucks in the shop.
