Hey Guys,

My outdoor frag tank is being overrun by Xenia. It's overtaking the tank and the frag racks. I want to clear off the frag racks so I have a couple of square feet I would like to donate to a reefer looking to start off with a big healthy population of xenia rather than just getting a couple of stalks.

I also have a Aptasia population outbreak in my frag tank. You can come collect them if you have Berghia to feed. You can bring me Berghia if you want them to be well fed. If you have a fish that eats Aptasia, I am happy to rent or borrow him/her. I can easily catch and return the fish when my population is under control, or pay it forward to the next needy reefer.

I have a rough schedule the next few weeks. But anything I give away is FREE so be patient and you will be rewarded.

Located in Encino where the 405/101 cross.

LOL..... Just picture a 6'x3'x1' tank that is 70% solid xenia.

Here are some photos from August. The quantity is probably double now...

These started out in my display tank. Under halide and led lighting they xenia is white/pink/silver. Outside in the sunlight they are beige. It takes about 2 weeks for them to go back to the silver.

And these are pulsing xenia.

G-Tank - The Frag tank is part of my 1100g total system. I use evaporative cooling in the summer time and a 2500w 220v Titanium immersion heater to keep things steady.

Barbazoid - I have a 400g display tank which is entirely open top, a 100g filtration sump outside, a 250g rock sump outside and the 140g frag tank outside. During a rainy day in the winter I will go through 10+ gallons of topoff. In the summer time with the fans blowing over the sump for evaporative cooling I will go through 40+ gallons. I have a custom made Avast 8g Kalk Stirrer and try to topoff with as much Kalk as possible. My Apex keeps track of pH and if the pH goes to high I have a 3 way solenoid that switches the topoff to straight RO/DI.

Tangwich - Thank you!

Ordedith - I have some pretty large clumps. Without traffic you are only about 40 minutes drive from me. Happy to coordinate so there is no traffic and you can have a nice large clump (or two) to get your 180 started.

Dragon3435- They are regular pulsing xenia. These are not the white red sea ones, nor the purple cespitularia. These are usually silver under tank lighting. Check out my webcam later in the day when the tank lights are on and you can see what they look like when not blasted by sunlight - www.o2manyfish.com/camera.htm - You can move the camera and zoom in up to the individual xenia polyp.

TH64 - Come on, the weather is still nice, pop the top down on the car and make a nice evening drive and get some Free Xenia :)
