Was doing tank maintenance last night. Had my left arm in the sump adjusting drain pipe. And for some reason grabbed the power center with my right hand. Don't know why. Must of been tired. Dumb move. Got the biggest shock ever. Let out the biggest scream. Was scared to touch the tank for a bit

Yeah had a power strip come loose off the and land into the sump. Got a big shock and gfi breaker kicked in. I had installed it the week before. I'm pretty sure it saved my life. I installed the strip lower like below the sump level. Scary and glad you are ok.

Same here. Had the hose off my return pump come un done and water spraying up onto my power strip. My first reaction was to shut the strip off after hearing the cracking that was coming from my power board. that was one big mistake..

Ha, I got my last good zap from a Rio 2500. Everything in the tank looked fine, I reached into the sump to grab something and got a good jolt. Started unplugging things and it was the old Rio.

My wife would tell me she was getting shocked when touching the water and I did not feel it. One morning out of the shower bare foot and in my bath robe saw a frag knocked over. I got a huge jolt, hurt. Like the devil. Wet feet, a tile floor, and a leaky pump can get you! Traced to a Maxi jet 1200 pump that was still working just fine. Now I let her put her hand in first:)

I got shocked by stray voltage in my wife's tank... Narrowed it down to a skimmer pump

I come from a generation of workers

quite the subjective term: work

by that I do not mean the unpleasant token of being employed "here" rather than doing something else over "there"

More like, the type who could cut nearly half an arm off, wrap it up in duct tape and go right back to work.

Been shocked many times. Does startle you a bit, that one, but relatively harmless at low amperage.

Come-oooonnnn....Confess: You squealed like a Girl Scout on prom night, didn't you??? :O)
