A number of venomous fish are available in the hobby, although I've never been jabbed myself by anything other than a bristle worm, I know someone that was caught out by a foxface rabbitfish, when picking up a rock.

Anyone else been stung and how did it happen? How bad was the pain?

My father in law got hit by his lionfish, said it was one of the worst stings he's ever had. Almost went to the ER

I've been hit by a lionfish a couple of times, Foxface and a coral cat... Coral cat was probably the worst... None felt good at all...

HOT water was a decent remedy. Meat tenderizer also works to take away some of the pain.

Working at a LFS has put me in contact with alot if the venomous critters in the hobby. I have come out mostly unscathed. The worst if got was from a carpet anenome. I was bagging it up for a customer and it engulfed my hand. It literally was stuck to my hand. When I finally got free I could see all the nemocyts all over the back of my had under the LEDs. My hand was itching and burning for about an hour or so.

I too have been stung by a carpet anenome; it hurt for hours. I was trying to break him off a rock. He is still on the rock and I have no interest in trying again.

I was stung by my lionfish while moving some rocks around. My heart had some pulsing pain and I went to the doctors to get a chest exam. I was totally fine a day later. But sleeping was a PIA.

I got stung by a dwarf lion, hurt like a bee sting but not bad enough to go to the doctors or anything. It's crazy how little it had to touch me for it to sting. My hand just gently grazed over the lion for a split second and I could feel it right away.

I'm surprised the coral cat was the worst
When I got hit with the coral cat, I really got blasted. Hurt like hell. The lions never really got me all that bad. Still hurt though.

Reading some of the other posts reminded me about a Ritteri that got me. Was a REALLY BIG specimen. While bagging it, it kinda flopped onto my forearm. Had welts for a couple of days from wrist to d@mn near my elbow.
