Skimmate challenge hahaha. All that skimmate in one place. We'd probably die from the fumes. Mine is nasty. Take the lid off and the smell sticks for hours.

No doubt. My wife makes me open up the house and have fans blowing when I clean mine.

Wow, you guys are running some expensive skimmers.

I think for this kind of money the noise of the pump would be a huge factor. It seems as though the ATB is louder than the BK or Vertex Alpha, at least according to you guys. If I am going to spend that kind of coin, I need that skimmer to be exactly what I want. This is my general feeling for the entire build, so no compromising on any aspect of the tank. Thoughts on http://www.aquariumspecialty.com/royal-exclusiv-bubble-king-supermarin-200-skimmer-with-rd3-speedy?

And as good as a skimmer can get, water changes are still very necessary. Thanks to whoever brought that up.

I've never heard a BK but my ATB is pretty **** silent with the askoll motor. No pump noise, no air noise. I'm not saying they are quieter/better than BK's but I know mine is very quiet. I do like the adjustable pump BK's but I read too much about how much it costs to get a replacement pump and time it takes, having ATB in simi valley was the clincher for me. Dealing with Chad is great

i feel old. deltec tc2560. for the power it uses and rating i guess it was worth it. at least i want to tell myself that. it does pull out a lot of junk i like the tank water goes straight into the reaction chamber.

I just bought a vertex alpha 170 for a 90 gallon. After reading all the reviews I felt like it was the best option.
