Why do most regal angels come in as adults?

I saw this little guy today and it got me thinking...

When it comes to emperor/ french/ queen angelfish etc you get a range of sizes. In seven years I've only seen 2 in juvenile colouration of regal angelfish so thought it was worth filming, I don't know if its the same in the US?
Surely its cheaper to ship over a small one compared to the usual 7-12 inch specimens I normally see...maybe they are harder to catch

I'm not sure there is a good answer, I would bet it's a little bit of everything. They are very hard to keep so I imagine they ship very poorly. Probably hard to catch and maybe they are not thought of as a super popular fish so they don't go for them. Who knows but iv seen one my whole life and it was phenomenal.

Adults are easier to catch and command more money. Juvis are more reclusive and hide in the rocks more/better than adults. Those are facts. Whether or not they affect collection I don't know 100% but I would think they do.

I had a feeling that might be the case

I'm surprised they have a marine betta in the same tank. Looks almost big enough to eat the little guy.
