When I first got my RBTA it was a bright pink, light red. It has been almost three weeks now and it is starting to look less colorful and moving towards a more reddish brown color. Any ideas why? Any ideas on how to get the color back?

If all your parameters are good, you have good lighting (I kept them under 250, 10K or 6500K for years), you're feeding, etc. then it sounds like its getting more zooanthalae. Sometimes the bringt pink/light coloration is actually bleaching. At least that's my experience. There are some lighter colored roses but most of the time it's because they are bleached out. What's your lighting and water params?

ya what lighting do you have on what size tank? for the mean time, try feeding the anemone, they'll eat pretty much anything.

sounds like its doing better than it was...
this...

just like when a torch or hammer coral are all shrunken up and stressed they're colors are neon and very intense... a healthy RBTA full of water and with a good amount of zoanthid algae or whatever that stuff is called, is a nice dull red color...

that's why i don't understand why people pay a premium amount of cash for a bright and colorful rose that is most likely wild caught or stressed, only so it can turn into everyone else's rose anemone in 6 months or so...

I sold dozens of rbta's and got that occasionally. But, I hit them with high lite and lots of actinic supplementation and you can get a nice look. I ran Iwasaki's 250, 6500K and PC actinics and mine looked radiant.

Ok so Minez is starting to come back around. It has full bubble tips and all the tips are vivid pink. I am starting to see bright streaks a green coming in. It should be an inferno. I got it from my buddy when he broke his tank down and It was almost fully white. I have been feeding it Shimps and Cubed Spectrum Fish food that I mash and make into cubes. Any other ideas to speed up the coloring??? 2012-11-19_14-41-30_343.jpg

I'm not saying it isn't but I don't think so. This is the world famous inferno

See the green in the tips. I didn't see any green in the tips of urs

But what do I know. My favorite saying is "This hobby is like the blind leading the blind".

RBTAs will darken or lighten depending on the levels of zooxanthellae in their tissue. Losing color could result from either too much or too little lighting. Pics and more information about your lighting could be helpful here.

^this. Same thing happened when I put my RBTA in my aquarium. They generally will go to an area that they prefer is comfortable. Try slowly increasing the intensity until a nice color is achieved
