should be fine, do you have a skimmer to put on it? if not i have one you can use. any fish going in it? you would need to watch the tank for any ammonia/nitrite spikes.
let me know if you need any help.

hey Jon no fish, just sps coral. I think they have a better chance of surviving in there then in my tank.

Mike, get a sponge and throw it in your sump for a day and put that sponge on the the 30 to stimulate the same micro-fauna that you have in your main tank. You can also do a 50/50 (Old and New Water).

I think from what he said his tank is doing bad, so using 50/50 would not be a good idea. NSW would be fine i think or even mixed water, what cycle would you have with just water? and if you borrow some live rock and have maybe a HOB filter to just maybe run some carbon. I dont think a skimmer is necessary. Just what i think.
good luck. Whats wrong with your tank now?
