Acrylic is the way to go if you don't want to wake up one day with water all over your home. Search the forum, you'll find a lot of members have had this happen. I've owned both types and can tell you from my experience Acrylic is the way to go. Acrylic tanks are earthquake safe and leak safe since it is one piece and not a couple of pieces siliconed together. I deal with high end acrylic tanks only, but I sell them a good price.
My builder makes tanks for many respected Museums and Aquariums plus high end homes. Check out BULLITR 's tank and my tank, we had ours built recently.
