do urself a favor dont waste ur time with a hydro most of them are inaccurate spend ur money once and buy a refractometer u'll be glad u did

agreed. I tested my hydrometer to a refractometer yesterday and they hydro is way off. However if it is all you can get, refractometers cost quite a bit more, it is something that lets you know your in the ballpark just wont tell you were homeplate is.. I think Marine depot has some on sale for 39.99

If you get a refractometer, pick up some Pinpoint 53.0mS salinity calibration solution, cost about $5 or so. It's much more accurate calibrating a refractometer to 35 ppt (1.0264) than 0 considering a possible error slope back to 1.026.

Thanks Albert let me see if fishnfool replies, i want to buy me a refractometer now :) This is what all of you guys use so im in the hunt for one of them. AGAIN thanks to all of you who replied and adviced for me to get a refractometer :top: you guys :thrasher: :rock:
