Clear water scrubber is at the rap show this weekend

I made my own large one for less than $30. It uses 3 sheets of needle point mesh which are hunk in my overflow box with clips made of PVC pipe.
Before cleaning taken earlier today.

Isn't the risk of clogging your overflow high?

Not really. I let it go for over 2 months when I was sick with covid and did not have any issue. The mesh did get enough algae on it that the water level in the tank increased a bit then. But that or the emergency drain being used is pretty obvious just walking by the tank due to it being noisy. That was a pretty extreame case of neglect on my part. I did not even look at the tank for 2 months. Then when i finally did it took another week before i had the streangth to empty my skimmer cup. I had to change my filter socks the next day and clean the scrubber a few days later as everything exhuasted me.
Sometimes some algae will break off and go down my drain to my filter socks. If one were to get clogged the flow would divert all to the other drain. If that one gets clogged it would divert to my emergancy drain.

Just to give you an idea how well my scrubber works this is what came off of one of my three sheets of mesh. The knife is 8" long for reference.
