Well, a little update. After talking to Robert about the white stringy poop, he suggested I use General Cure. It contains both Prazipro and Metro. Before this, I was just using Metro because I already dose Prazipro for a week. But apparently, I think I need to continue dosing Prazipro, so I'll continue to do it with General Cure. He said the medication must be put in the food because the fish has internal parasites. So the in tank treatment wouldn't be doing much. So my plan is to mix General Cure and Focus into food and feed it until I no longer see white stringy poop.

So far, the Regal is eating and is active, so I'm hoping this cocktail can resolve this issue so I can transfer it to my main display. Today the Regal has been in quarantine for three weeks. I'm anticipating perhaps another two weeks. There are no signs of flukes, but I really do want to resolve the internal parasites issue.

Thanks again to all the people who have been providing their feedback and allowing me to keep this gem of a fish! Couldn't have come this far without you guys!

This is about day three of General Cure and Focus mixed in food. Yesterday, I still saw the white stringy poop. But otherwise, the Regal is good and active.

How long until it subsides with the medication?

Regal is doing good. There's been a reduction of white stringy poop, but the poop is still a little white and the poop that's actually poop, is still stringy. When I got it, it pooped big chunks. It hasn't done that as much yet.

Still going with the General Cure and Focus. It's kind of ironic how a pellet trained Regal can come bite me in the ***....This Regal from the beginning has eaten nothing but pellets in the LFS. In turn, he doesn't like frozen as much. So when it comes to medicating his food, he only takes one or two bites and is done. He's never been too fond of frozen food since I got him.

But anyway, he's still doing good and once I can verify the white stringy poop is gone, I'll be transferring him to my DT. Still waiting for my acclimation box though.

Anyway, the saga continues...

My regal eats anything I throw in there now. Flake, pellets, nori, and just about any type of frozen. Funny he doesn't like the angel frozen cubes but eats the other stuff

That's good! This guy is really into pellets. I assume that's all they fed him at the LFS. He doesn't attack frozen like he does pellets.

Anxiously awaiting for this guy to poop.....Last time, the white stringy poop was reduced, but I haven't seen it poop since. Once that clears, he's ready for the DT! If my description of how he looks is correct, Robert says it's suffering from lymphocytosis, which I now read is common on Angels and can be due to water quality and other factors. So hopefully, I can get him out of QT with better water in my DT.

Also, he's no liking his medicated food too much. Now he'll take one bit and that's it. But he'll take pellets like a champ. So hopefully the poop clears because he's not going for the frozen too much, even if I dip it in garlic with the medication.

Well, it's official! No more white stringy poop! So as far as I'm concerned, this guy is ready for the DT after four weeks in QT. The only thing that's holding me back from putting him in the DT is that I still haven't received my Acclimation box from Elite Aquatics. The Regal still has a few cysts on it's fins, but Robert said it had to run it's course.

So Adrock, do you feel this fish is ready to be transferred? Would you do anything else? I will probably have it in QT for one more week until my acclimation box arrives.

Thoughts are highly welcomed!

how long have u treated the fish usually u will need to stop dosing (if the dosing regiment is complete) if treating for internal parasite in fish is 3 to 6 weeks of qt and treatment then 2 weeks off medication to observe for relapse or secondary infections. that the way I approach it now if in qt and you didn't have to diagnose and or treat qt 3 to 4 weeks and acclimate to display tank

I've been medicating the food for a week now. So you're saying, stop dosing, and then observe for a few weeks if the internal parasites come back?
