Soooo I placed my order for my replacement 225g- I need a new skimmer, my old ASM G5 is....dinosaur-ic. If anyone knows a good lead on a used one of these I would be interested-
Reef Octopus 6000sss
Aquamaxx Cone 6
Bubble Magus Curve 36
Aquamaxx AM350
Bubble Magus C99

Let me know!!! Also if it is local, I will need someone to help ship it to me in Spokane, or store it for me until I can make it down to Socal.
Thanks

Reef octopus xp5000 is a great skimmer. They pop up used all the time. Keep an eye out for one. OR check out some of reef octopus' new skimmers. They are supposed to be real nice. I think they are called the legacy skimmers. Or something like that

Yeah I saw the elite and the regal skimmers reef octo released, they look really nice, I just didnt see a strong need for the controllable DC pumps as it will be in my garage w/ the sump. If it were going to be under my stand I would deff look more seriously into getting one. I saw only 1x SRO5000 up right now (on RC) but w/ shipping its out at $600, and a new one is $650.

They don't make xp5000 anymore. If u can get one, I would jump on it. Great pumps, and that skimmer pulled nasty gunk from my tank. They seem to be balanced really well. Not sure why they stopped making them. I think they are gunna stop making that bubble blaster pump, I could be wrong though.

Agree 100% I have been using the bb 5000 on my ASM body the past 3 years and it was a HUGE improvement vs the sedras. No start up issues, quiet, efficient, reasonably priced....maybe thats why they are going to stop making them! If I can find a 5000-6000 reef octo, I can keep my old bubble blaster pumps as backups. I use the water blaster 5000 pump as the feed for my manifold & chiller. Im actually looking to use a HY-10,000 as my return

There's a guy selling an xp5000 on RC right now. $500 with a brand new pump in the box. Says he won't ship, but that's what they all say. Tell him u will pay to have ups pack it. They guarantee if u pay them to pack it. Usually only $10ish extra
