Anyone has a VS3-36 or bigger for a 500g+ tank? Already have a return pump, just looking for the skimmer. I'm looking to go venturi skimmer for the new build...
Thanks

I don’t think there is a huge used market on these. Have also serviced tanks with these skimmers. A needle wheel beats them even at that size. If you are stuck on that, I’d look into banshea

Interesting. This is why 99.9% of reefing world moved from venturi to needle wheel? LifeReef thinks otherwise — lol

Anyone selling their product is going to have that bias. I’ve had experience with all types, and needle wheel is the best for our application.

I do like the idea of swapping out the pump and ease of maintenance.

still on a search for a Vertex Alpha 300 or SRO 3000/5000. The SRO 8000 doesn’t fit my sump

Curious —so one was able to create an account, search for WTB threads, and phish for emails/scam automatically or he/she did this manually?

So far, this idiotic robot sent me one DM per WTB thread…fun! Guess I’ll stop the WTB thread from now on…

Those skimmers are yesterday's news. The only work with a pressure rated pump as it is a becket style. Those prostrated pumps are not energy efficient. So best to get a needle wheel. Reef Octo. They make neck extensions, cleaners and parts are always available when needed.

Looks like 99.9% of people went this route except this manufacturer. Anyway, it will be too tall anyway so I’ll go back and find some huge skimmers. Thanks for your feedback.
