I saw black tangs that small at wholesale, $350 each. Pretty solid if you ask me. Good luck getting into whole sale lol.
no wholesaler will let someone walk in and buy a small black tang for $350 and walk out. Usually you have to buy a lot of bread and butter fish along with the black tang

The minimum purchased was only $150, meet that your golden. And describe "someone" because you can't be a "nobody" and get into whole sale. You can even try to check out with out the correct documents. They had roughly 4-5 some were a bit larger then 2". No bigger then 4". All were on sale for $350.

Did you buy one? Wholesalers get items like that as incentives. They don't let them go to stores that want to come in, cherry pick a single fish and bail. Granted $350 is a bit high but meh. Im not trying to get into a pissing match with you over it lol. Ive worked in wholesale.

Idk why you'd question that then. Like you said $350 is a high price anyways. I've seen fish there at normal LFS prices $50-120. Sell for less then $5 at wholesale, it's a rather sick inflation, but what most people don't know won't kill them.

But to answer your question no I did not buy the black tang. But given my experience in the saltwater industry I think it's funny when I tell people about whole sale prices, they tend to knock me like i don't know anything. No pissing contest here, but I know what I know and that's what I'm going to stick to.

My lfs sells chevron tangs for 50 and black tangs for 300... well, to me... Lol...
That's the going rate at wholesale lol, I would never dish out huge amounts of money for fish after being spoiled with wholesale prices
