Cool I'm also looking for Cholerpa (sp)
Caulerpa spp. is/are an invasive species...as such it is illegal to sell it as per California Fish and Game code...careful who you ask or you can have a Game Warden knocking on your door and confiscating your whole setup and leaving you with a hefty fine...it sounds outlandish but it happened to this guy I went to college with in Northern California...I'm just saying...

Wow good looking out bro thank you. I had heard some plants were illegal had no idea that little guy was one of them. Phew close call. If any agents are reading this thread I did not find any caulerpa and will stop looking. haha

Thanks Man!

I volunteer with Reefcheck Ca as a scientific diver...we do Caulerpa clean up dives pretty regularly in the San Diego/Orage County areas...I'm not sure if there are any Caulerpa species that are legal to sell...but I could be wrong...just to clarify if you own them and can claim/prove that you have had them since before they became illegal then you should be okay...but is it really worth it??

one more thing...I believe the only way to kill it is to freeze it. Kinda crazy but I got some live rock and within a week taxifola and bryopsis popped up from "clean rock" from a local reefer. I ended up nuking the rock but what I pulled off I dumped in the compost.
