eh, not very fond of tangs.. thats why I am looking for an invert rather than a fish.. I hear foxface and rabbitfish do well with the hair algae as well.. but my community is already together and living harmoniously. rather not add any other fish at this time
Only reason why I don't recommend sea hares or lawnmower blennies is they'll both usually die once the algae is gone. Lawnmowers can be hard to get to eat prepared foods. Good luck with whatever you decide.
Ah good to know. I'll probably stop by Jan's and pick one up.
Don't want to have to worry about giving the little guy back when hes done doing the deed; however, I very much appreciate the offer Robert. Crazy, insane reef karma to you sir!
and about the lawnmower, I'd already have one if they didn't look so ugly. Not into the lawnmowers, I already have a bi-color. Would hate for him to feel threatened with the new guy on the block lol.
do you think one of these guys would be safe with a pistol shrimp that's about 2 1/2-3 inches big? my local petco has some and I thought about getting one
I've got a pistol shrimp in my tank as well. But hate that shrimp since it is digging up my sand burrowing under the rocks with my YWG. IME the shrimp knows to stay away from the sea hare.

If you are successful in catching the shrimp lmk. I've tried the plastic bottle cut in half but it hasn't worked. I think this shrimp got another one of my fish today. :-(
