dont do it....i had one a year ago or so and he was eating my freaken zoas....could have been a single scenario but ill never experience that again.

Thanks for the experience. The web sites show them as reef safe. How about a lawnmower, are they ok w/ zoas. I want to control some hair algae too.

I have a lawnmower and have never had any problems with them.

lawnmower is safer... starry blennies are also mean, but they look way cooler than a lawnmower

I have a Starry and I love him. Never can be sure, but I haven't seen him bother or nip anything other than some Maiden's hair that I have in the tank. I do not have any Zoa's though...

I have seem him rest on my Derasa from time to time (not recently), but I have not seen him bother the clam.

He has a LOT of personality and is always looking for me when I feed.

Vivid Aquariums had a number of them a few months ago, not sure if they sill have any.

Ive had a few Lawnmowers they are awesome but when they get full grown they become major bully's. I lost a few fish due to him.
Ended up trading him in for a baby Lawnmower and has been fine since
