Hey guys, just got done with 2+ hours of driving thru LA traffic, thank god I don't do this much. Currently just beside a starbucks in El Segundo before my next stop...
Anyways, since the cat is already out of the bag, YES, it was an item from Reef Lounge USA.
Vu, I sincerely apologize if you were disappointed. I wish you acknowledged that when I was 15 feet away from you during your 'pick up' purchase. You've purchased eBay auction from us in the past. We would have easily worked this out via phone, email, PMs, etc. You and everyone here knows where I am 7 days a week. I would have a happily credit/traded for another item or refunded and you would've not had to go through all this trouble over a $25 Rainbow acan versus fouling the rep of my operation.
Regarding the photography. Many people here that knows me well, know that I do my best display the full beauty of coral specimen while not adding on colors or an extra 20 levels of highlights. I keep it simple; white balance, contrast, and brightness. The rest is left to the camera settings and macro lens. Myself and my currently in-store photographer look at photoshopping with extreme prejudice, though it is the best means to get true colors via means of filters, it can be severely abuse which we do not condone.
Regarding out ebay system. As you saw in person, it is a 100 gallon frag system where we consolidate all of our picks for eBay. Like Apex, its all about control, I don't want items on the floor accidentally sold when it gets listed. The corals spend 2-4 days acclimating prior to pictures being taken, then it is usually 1-3 days before our auction is started for another 3-5 days. Following which, 70% of which are shipped out or picked up within the next 3 days. When all is said and done, it can be up to 2 weeks from the day the coral is moved til is goes to the end user. Can colors be lost in 2 weeks? Possibly.
Regarding acan corals. Ask anyone like myself who are passionate with acans. They morph ALL the time; water condition, lighting, temperature, feeding, etc. Just last week I salvage brown acans from a system with 1.22 phosphate, within 5 days under metal halides, they were true red again. But even with a blurry android phone pic you took, I can still see the green, blue, ring of yellow, white, and orangish-red that makes it a true rainbow.
I'm not a crook or hustler, I'm in the wrong business slinging true Rainbow acans at $25 if I was. Though I wasn't in the same room when you were picking up the item to see and defuse your frustration, I am more than willing to make it right within reason as many other members here know.
