Yelllow Clown Goby < SPS

I picked up a Yellow Clown Goby last week at Ellis Aquatics (same weekend as MAX) and most of his fish were sold. I really wanting a fairy wrasse. I picked up a 6line and this YC Goby

Anyways, at the same visit I bought a few SPS mini colonies and frags. I didnt think much since I read the YC Goby was reef friendly. SPS looked great and I already have a few SPS frags in my tank already. Yesterday I realized all my SPS weren't extending, today I actually saw the YC goby nip at the Acro tips. In the water column was a piece of the poor acro's polyp floating around. Lesson Learned

That was it. I made a DIY fish trap from a water bottle and tide a kite string to it.

Wow that's crazy. You never know what fish will pick at coral. Glad you caught him in time

It even says on live aquaria that they may nip at sps.

Hey, I also got a yellow clown goby from Ellis and mine has been great. Are you sure he wasn't picking pods off the acro? I've seen mine doing it off the rocks. Anyway, Ellis Aquatics is the place to be

They nip at SPS.

Mine ruined a tabling acro, used to wriggle in it to make it slime and eat that. Then nipped all the polyps, suppose like some angels you take your chances.

I still have mine, it hasn't touched any other sps and do love him, he's a funny little thing

I made the same mistake a few years ago but was able to catch it before it did much damage, never again.
