I have a anemone that i would like to take out of my tank. I would like to hear your ideas on how to get it off the rock without killing it or having to remove the big rock from my tank.

Any tricks or clever ideas?

Thanks, Chris

The way that has worked for me is tickling the foot. Be careful to not damage the foot though. Just gently tickle the foot of the anemone, you will feel the foot start to detach when that happens continue working around the base of the foot.

Thanks guys sounds like great ideas, the foot of the anemone is inside the rock so it will be hard to get to but ill try putting a lot of current on the anemone itself to see if that works then ill try a plastic bowl

Thanks.

direct current will definitely make the anenome move....
I have heard put ice at the foot will also loosen it up? Anybody have experience with that?

+1 on this. Once you carefully get your nail under the foot you can slowly work your way around & remove him.

Power head will definatly get it to move. If its not what you wanted just peel it of nice and easy and once it gets started it comes right off. Dont be discouraged when it shrinks. It'll be happy again i find the smoother the surface the harder it is to get off, but it'll go
