I'm sure those aren't killing the zoa, I have two of those. It's a small scallop of sorts. They are filter feeders. I think u should check parameters, what's ur alk at?

Sometimes it takes awhile for zoas to settle. Mine get small then loose color. But then they come back bigger and more colorful. As long as you stay the course of good reef husbandry you will be fine and your reef will color and grow.

Zoas can be strange sometimes and literally melt away while all other zoas stay healthy. Have you noticed any zoa eating nudibranch's? If one of my corals start receding I always give it a dip in Seachem's Reef Dip to try to kill any infection.

Alkalinity low? Mine did that when my alk was low.

That's a good question.. In my 2 years i've ran this tank I've never checked for alkalinity..... That'll be on my To-do list tomorrow.

No Zoa eating nudibranches. I have ReVive cleaner, but i'm not entirely sure if that works very well... I dipped my massive colony of Acans, but they ended up ALL dying anyway.. Same thing kinda happened, they started turning brown and just all got swept. Very weird stuff happening to my tank right now :/

My zoas have never done well with dirty water too. Although some may disagree, having ur phosphates and nitrates under control is also something to look at. U can also try dipping them in iodine or furan 2 to get rid of whatever is bugging them, either infection or pests or bacteria of some sort.

I've learned the hard way but testing regularly is a must. I dose nano reef part a/b and one day stopped dosing and testing, boy do I regret that ... I lost so much color its not even funny. Getting a coral to color up has been a slow process. It like weight control in humans, easy to gain, hard to lose. Same with corals, so easy to lose color, hard to gain it back. It all starts with ur water chem.
