So, a little over a year ago, I bought a chunk of zoas from Seaside Tropical fish. I saw what looked like a little anemone on the frag, and being a new reefer, I was concerned. But the owner smiled and said "lucky you!" or something to that effect, indicating it was good. I've had it in my 5 gal tank all this time and it never really changed much. All this time, I thought it was just a little anemone that wasn't really growing or doing much. It ate meaty food, always had polyps extended, even when I was getting lazy with maintenance and everything else in the tank was pissed.
The zoa rock recently broke off on its own and that's when I noticed it actually had a torch-like skeleton, that's been SLOOOOOWWLLLY getting bigger. Ever since the rock broke off, the skeleton has actually grown dramatically longer. Pistol shrimp pushed it into my scoly, and now it's half dead. But I noticed it had 2 mouths, one of which survived, so all is not lost!
Anyway, pointlessly long story over, any clue wtf this thing is? Looks like a torch, but doesn't have little balls on the tips as most do.
