Now, I'm not the one selling this system. I found it on craigslist. But a hell of a deal. I was wondering if anyone was willing to go in on this for specific parts. Here is the description:

Selling a 180 gallon working salt water aquarium for pennies on the dollar. I have neglectedthe aquarium, however it is up and and running. The aquaruim comes complete 220 pounds of live rock (some with soft corals attached), 200 pounds of live sand, the fish and soft corals on the rocks. The lighting system is a $1,800 LED set of lights, also have a $1,200 halid lighting system. The aquarium is set-up to be completely green with only the assistance of pumps to return the water and needs a new protein skimmer. I have several different types of chemiclas that are used in a salt water system.

Aquarium: 2 feet by 2 feet by 6 feet custom built with black background and holes drilled into the glass. Has a black cabinet with a black hood where the LED lights are installed. The filter system is a refugium style sytem complete with live sand and loads of coraline algea on the sides. Has one working return pump. Glass tank alone when purchassed new was $2,600. This is a steal at $850. Will take at least four men to move the aquarium. Live rocks are covered in coraline algae. With some love and care this tank can be a show piece once again.

You must bring your own buckets to transport rocks and sand, and you need to take down the system and remove from home in four just four to six hours. I am disabled and not able to help in any way.

I am only interested in the lights. We could split it. perhaps $200 for the lights, $200 for live stock, rock/coral and sand, $450 for tank, stand and misc. Anyone game?

What LEDs does it come with? That doesn't look like that great of a deal to me. Especially if its been neglected and the rock looks like crud.

Here what the seller responded with:

To answer your questions: yes the aquarium is still available, I had several inquiries but no ones has been serious as of yet. the corals that are still living are cabbage corals, button corals, a few finger corals maybe a few others.

The lighting: the LED lighting is Aqua Beam brand; I have four 500/600 models 2 are marine white and two are marine blue/white and there are three model Ultra 1500's the tank only needed two. The lights are only three years old and have a life expectancy of 8 to 11 years depending on how long you run the lights-I have tried to run on the 11 year cycle.

I also have a Corallife 72 in self contained metal halide unit with four 96 watt compact fluorescent bulbs. It was only six months old when I went to the LED system. The Corallife unit has been in my garage in the rafters since I took it off the aquarium.

I do have fish and some invertebrates. There are two yellow tangs, a non-breeding pair. As you know, tangs do not breed in captivity. There is a clown fish, a damsel. There may be a cleaner fish and a couple of serpent stars and some snails and a possibly a sand star.

There are hundreds of finger stars in the tank. I feed the fish. I have several different types of chemicals worth in the area of $150 by themselves.

As I said in the add this is a great buy for someone trying to get into the salt water hobby, I am selling for pennies on the dollar. My protein skimmer has broken and one of the two return pumps. The refugium was custom made in Denver and I purchased it new for $850 it is a self contained unit and works great with spaghetti algae. The refugium is covered in coralline algae and has some spaghetti algae left in the middle tank.

The design of the system was to be a self contained ecological working system, the only filter was the protein skimmer which was needed for the corals when I was raising hard corals and of course there are pumps to return the water back to the tank.

Let me know if you are serious and I will call.

He texted me saying that it was sold but emailed a couple hours later saying it was still available. So I edited that post. LEDs are a UK brand. I have heard good reviews on them. Runs about 150. About $300 each

I have those led. Although mine are ultra HD 1000 (For deeper tanks). The 1500 (tile 10emitter) n the 500/600 strips are are for larger footprint, not deep. I burned a few sps with 12" from tank. Super bright n super expensive. XP-G & XP-E were developed by CREE & TMC for the 1000&1500 model. Very popular in england and Europe. Have fun fighting for it......
