I am looking to purchse a 50 gal rimless cube. My finances preclude lee mar or visio, so was looking at cadlights. I then came across an add repeatedly on CL out of Temecula for what seems like a knock off, no brand is mentioned, except to say it is not cadlights. Does anyone have any experince with his product or with the cadlights 50 cube? If I go with the cadlights, which light would you recommend, standard or the more powerful pendant type? I am upgrading from a nanocube and have mostly softies, but would like to add a clam, some lps and possibly sps. I would go with a larger upgrade, but am very space limited.

The tank you see on CL is not a knock off. It's a tank made by another manufacturer. They also make other tanks as well.

Lighting I would go with a 150 watt halide fixture with T5 supplement. Or jump on the bandwagon of LED's.

wow, check out history in the forums

I checked on cadlights 50 cube in the search feature on these forums and there is so much stuff written. I guess I am coming late to the party on this. It sure seems that something shady is going on with these cadlight "like" cubes. The whole thing makes me feel uneasy

I have a cadlight 50 gallon cube, the quality of the starfire glass is excellent and they have made significant improvements over some of their earlier tanks . Their new skimmer at RAP is very high quality . For lights , I would consider the aqua illumination or acan lighting LED fixtures. For the money , I think CAD tanks are a very good value and they are made right here in S California.
