Anybody heard of Aquatic Outlet in Inglewood. Found this searching the Internet. Comes off as the Sam's Club or Costco of Aquarium stores. Membership is 12.50 a year. Supposedly is in a 20,000 square foot warehouse and has 70,000 gallons of displays. Advertises wholesale to members.

That place reminds me of Global Aquatics of Ontario. Both places can have so much potential if they lowered their prices. Even Tong's of Fountain Valley is cheaper than them

I agree that they are expensive and not worth it. Global aquatics in ontario sure does have a ton of potential also but they both are expensive. Huge stores though.

I don't go to Global Aquatics anymore unless something is on FIRE and I need a part ASAP. I bought my first tank there, and it was actually a good deal. But some things (dry goods pricing, care of livestock) have turned me off. I want to support places that treat their livestock well, and those that don't, well, they need to go by the wayside.

That nurse shark in that kiddie pool pisses me off to no end... After all these years you'd have thought that someone would have given it a better home... Or that the authorities would have (I suspect the laws regarding that kind of thing are ineffectual at best, so)...

Still sounds worth a visit, though. The "has potential" comment kinda perked my ears a bit...

Aquatic Outlet sucks a$$, the owner is a jerk, he even told me that he hates all hobbiest, because they know too much, he only wants to sell to newbies, and to people who are stupid, this is one of the reasons he refuses to sell frags. Overpriced and horrible customer service.

I do not recommend this place to anyone,

Try Reef Hot Spot down the street, but last time I went, their prices seemed to be going up also.

I hate fish stores that try and stock sharks. Like ATA which has a huge shark in tank on the floor. When I was there Jay was trying to show off and feed the shark, he almost got his fingers bit off lol. The shark chomped the fish in his hand and he had this look on his face like omg that was close.

Im surprised global is able to cover their overhead expenses with their unhealthy livestock. It must cost several thousand to just rent out that huge warehouse they have.

Though I don't necessarily need to patronize some of these stores I do have to admire them just for the fact many have been around for quite a while all the while others have come and gone.

I think you'll find most of the large stores don't feel the need to fit the mold that fish board members have formed.

I read somewhere that aquatic outlet makes their money on aquarium services. They have coupons on their website, but most of their stuff are really expensive.

RTG, you are correct in a way.
But we are board members are not $tupid people.

About 10 years ago this place was an actual wholesaler. I havent been there in a while so Im not sure if there are wholesaling still.

During that time in the past it began selling to the public with different prices. If you are wholesaler you got the wholesaler price and the public another price. A buddy mentioned that things will go downhill from here since they opened to the public. Looks like he was right. We never went back after that.
