Mangroves are plants that eventually will grow into trees. Lots of info on the net about habitat and what they do. Mangroves can be found growing in salt , brackish, and fresh water. Like all plants they will utilize nitrates. phosphates,etc to grow. Some people add them to their sumps to remove chemicals. They will require light to survive. Hope this helped
