Anyone know levels of Instant Ocean salt?

I need something with alk and CA in the low ends to balance out the levels in RSCP since I'm using so much water to fill the rest of the tank up.

I'm at the lfs now and need to know asap... thanks!

That's about right. Instant ocean is RELATIVELY cheap and good quality. Its not designer salt, but it does the trick. ALWAYS mix a test batch of water first, sometimes a bad batch will get past quality control, as with ALL products.

Yeah it 400-415 calcium depending if you mix to the low end of 1.025 or high end of 1.026. Make sense?

These levels are much different than I was expecting. Bad batch?

I don't want to raise my tank's alk any more cuz I've already raised it more than I wanted to by adding so much new sw made with RSCP to the tank to fill it. I still need to add about 20g to the tank to get the sump up and running.

Gonna test tank now... stay tuned

Those are the same numbers I get as well when mixing 20 to 25 gallons when I use the 50 gal bags. I test every water change. Don't worry about the alk being a little high it wont raise your tank that much at all.

Bag. I'm guessing the reason you're asking is that if it were a bucket, it might have settled on the bottom and not been mixed well, but a bag wouldn't be like that, right?

Need advice asap...

Ok I have 30g of sw in my sump that needs to start circulating through the display... it's RSCP mixed with IO and the dKH is 11.5-11.8.

The dKH in the display is 8.6 and there is approximately 60g of water in there.

If I turn on the return pump and start circulating and mixing the water from the sump, do you think it will raise my alk too much?

Do you think it would be better to just put a little, maybe even half, of the water into the dt and then wait another 24hrs to add the rest, giving the tank a day to consume some alk before adding the rest?

Yeah but I wanna get my skimmer and chiller online

Skimmer more than anything. I tested for no3 last night and surprisingly it was only 2.5 but with no chaeto and no skimmer, I don't want to see that number start climbing.

I'm actually really amazed. I've seen no cycle whatsoever and everything is doing very well. My tangs didn't even show any signs is stress or ich. I'm already fragging and trading

I use reef crystals i got a bucket. Last batch i made was .026, ca 420, dkh 9, i didnt test for mag. Api test kit for what its worth. I still dont trust my refractometer, the sg was with a hydrometer that is fairly consistent all the time.
