I did talk to Ron from capo reefs and he said that he would like to participate in the group buy, but he prefers that everyone go to his actual store front, to make sure everyone gets a chance to play with the AI unit and make sure they like it.
I've already seen and played with the AI fixtures at RAP and elsewhere.

Capistrano Reef is about three hours round trip for me (without traffic), and prolly $20+ in gas. I'd love to see the store, but do not have that kinda free time or patience for SoCal traffic. Also, not sure if I want to participate in the GB unless the fixture is available reasonably soon. Any idea on the lead time?

So did Premium aquatics. I just spoke with there rep for the west and he said that they have about 20 units in stock. I asked them about bulk discounts and they said that they could do $600 per unit. I told them that is not a discount. I am looking at around $500.00 for a complete set module and controller.

I am going to Capistrano reef tomorrow afternoon and check these out. If the shimmer is what I am looking for then I will still be in.

Here is where I am at. I have a 300 gallon tank to light. I have heard anywhere from 4 to 8 units are needed for proper coverage. I am not going to drop $5,000.00 on lighting. If I can get away with 5 units, I will be more willing. I went to Capistrano reef and the controller box was locked so I couldnt view them at full power. I saw them at Tom's place but the controller wasnt hooked up. the clams did respond instantly to the led though. Thats a good sign in my book. Has anyone pegged down a rock bottom price they can post?
