So after having the Kessil 350w Tuna Blue for a few months, I never really liked the color of the tank. It was over the JBJ30 RL (24*18*16). No matter how much adjusting of the colors and intensity, I could never really get the color I like. So in my search to try another light, I decided to pick up a Halo from AquaticLife. The Halo is cheaper and the current Kessil 360 and has a built in controller and so far I like most of it.
Heres a pic of them side by side
As you can see, the Halo is larger and bulkier looking. I like the sleek look of the Kessil better.
As far as the controller goes, I like that its built in but it does have some down falls. Theres no internal battery to keep the settings. From what Ive read on their website is that theres a capacitor that will keep a short charge but for any extended power outage, youll have to reprogram the light. I do like that it does have a dawn/dusk channel, daylight channel and a moonlight channel as well as a ramp up/down for each of the channels.
Now for the most important part, the light. Pulling from the AquaticLife website channel 1 is a full spectrum which includes a UV 400nm x1, UV 420nm x1, Royal Blue x2, Blue 465nm x2, Blue 470nm x5, Blue 475nm x2, Blue 480nm x4 . Channel 2 is a white light which has Blue 470nm x4, Cool White x4.
I tried looking up the number of diodes the Kessil has but was not able to find on their website.
Heres a under exposed picture so that I can get all the Diodes in the picture
Overall, I really like the color of the Halo. I can get that 14k look I like that I just couldnt get out of my Kessil.
