Ok so with my previous set up I had a 50 gallon reservoir in my garage and a line running in the wall to my living room where I had my 150 corner tank was at and then it was tapped into my sump with a float valve and the RO water was gravity fed.

Now I have a new acrylic sump still have 50 gallon reservoir and line is still in the wall but now I have to run an ATO.

Can I still use my 50 gallon reservoir in the garage with a Tunze Osmolator or any another ATO?

I've seen videos of Tunze ATO's on you tube and they all have small reservoir next to the DT Stand or inside. From what I've heard the ATO pumps can only pull from max 7 ft. away.....really?

Any suggestions so that I can still use my reservoir without having to drill sump?

Also if anyone has suggestions on ATO and who knows of good pricing on a good ATO?

Ask James, newToThis, he will hook you up :)

Anyway that module can pump up to 7 feet high, 7 feet away from the same level is not much force needed

My reservoir tank is approx. 15 to 18 feet away sitting on a stand 2 feet high.

if i am understing correctly your tank is currently set up to gravity feed so the water would normally run down from your resevoir and into your sump. if this is the case the pump wont have to work very hard at all. it would basically just turn on and allow the water to pass like your float valve did. i dont see it being an issue.

i have the hydor smart level and love it. never worry about it getting stuck.

yes you are correct....if i do gravity feed and drill sump (which im trying to avoid) then i don't think i will have problem. But if i don't drill then thats why i asked.

Yep, either use float a valve that does not require drilling.

Or... set up a seperate container (does not have to be large) next to your sump. Install a float valve in it, and start a gravity feed from your reservoir. Then, use any type of ATO configuration to pull water from that container.. The container will automatically refill via gravity top off. It's an extra step, but that's what I use, since I use an aqualifter to push my top off water thru a Kalk reactor prior to topping off my sump.

Rafael, don't give yourself a headache....my setup is similar to crystal. All of my RO/DI filtration is in the garage. I could route a water line into my sump or even my reservoir, but it's too far and too much work...so What I did was bought a cabinet that would house a 20T and placed it next to my stand. I fill up the reservoir once a week, depending on evaporation...the cabinet also house my eyesore reef junk, since my tank is in the LVRM....
