lol NONE......I always say ''trust no angel''. I have had many different species and it is a hit and miss with or a matter of time.

Don't waste ur time or money, angels are away to curious of a fish to trust in a SPS dominated tank, and they're not cheap, nor is losing a coral, and U WILL loose corals. The angel might eat it, or try to eat it and knock stuff down, etc.... If you are looking to ad some more color to your reef, check out different anthias, and there are a few wrasses that are 100% Reef safe and won't even eat snails/inverts. The Flame Wrasse is a prime example of one. Anthias like to school too and are relatively cheaper in comparison to Angels.

I have had the angels mentioned above and they were not reef safe for me. You will have to take a chance for your self depending on how bad you want one.

I have not seen a large angel nips at any sps
Dwarf angel on the other side loves to pick on sps

Large angels will eat zoa, meaty lps and some ricordea..
I killed enough angels to know a little about them.currently have 3 large angel on my QT
In my opinion the most beautiful fish!

I'm sure you know,no angel can be relied on when it comes to leaving your corals alone. The one I would try is the Majestic Angelfish; they tend to be a bit shy. Many might have had success keeping all kinds of angels in reefs, but keeping them till they mature is the hard part. You can have an angel fish in a reef for years, but can all of a sudden turn and wreck havoc. Keep researching, there are some that are less prone to picking than others, but i guess that's the risk you gotta take to keep those beauties. Also look into the scribbled and blue line (not the annularis).

+1 I agree with Lawrence. They are the most beautiful fish and having them in a reef tank is possible. John Copps tank is prove that it can be accomplished.

In the ocean their is little to no polyp extension during the day time thanks to all the fish picking on the corals. Its at night time where the polyps come out.

If you have seen Planet Earth - Shallow Seas, you see evidence of this. The fish actually scour the reef and pick at the corals during the day when they are active, it is almost symbiotic as it helps keep the corals healthy and keeps them from being covered by algae.

Ive had a flame angel and coral beauty for 5 years in my SPS tanks and they do little NET damage. They do nip at SPS polyps if I dont feed them for a few days, but do not hurt any 1 colony noticibly. They ususally avoid each other. I tried to add a lemon peel but the others bullied it so i returned her.

I had a moorish idol (not an angel) for 2 years, but he almost cleared out my zoos.

I really want to try an emperor angel, but am scared for my clams and LPS. I'm eyeballing one at a nearyby store that has just completed its color change. It has been eating only spectrum jumbo pellets and freeze dried krill for 2 months, maybe a good candidate.
